Game maker workshop

Game maker

Playing computer games is a popular pastime for children. In these fun workshops, children will learn to create and play their own games. In this fun and interesting workshop, children are going to design their own computer game. The idea is that, in small groups, pupils will think for themselves about the design and difficulty of their game. Afterwards, they will play it themselves, allowing them to experience for themselves how to make a game easier or more difficult. This develops pupils' problem-solving skills. Furthermore, they add elements to the game such as backgrounds, themes, objects, enemies, bonuses, etc. This contemporary workshop is a fun and educational experience for every child.

Key objectives
Students learn to use media to communicate. This allows them to translate topics as they perceive them through a digital tool. They acquire some knowledge about, and gain an appreciation for, aspects of their environment. Also, in an exploratory phase, they acquire knowledge about new technologies such as computer games. They also learn to deal with new media, such as tablets and iPads. The pupils learn to look differently at their environment, as well as improving their sensory perception.
